Successful Data Virtualisation Experience Session

Together with our partners at Nippur and Cisco Information Server (CIS) we organized an interactive day on 11 October 2017 on the possible applications of data virtualisation in the existing BI architecture. Renowned companies from the industry and the health care and financial sector, represented by their data specialists, got together in the idyllic surroundings of chateau ‘Kasteel Maurick’ in Vught to be guided through the world of ‘ virtual ‘ data layers in an inspiring way.

This day offered a theoretical framework from our own expertise on the possibilities of (graphically) making data comprehensible on different levels. In addition, our partners from Cisco Information Server (CIS) provided an interactive session with a cloud solution created for the occasion, in which the participants worked on a virtual data model. This way the participants could experience how, regardless of structure, technology or location, you can get real-time insight and access to data on different levels.

We finished off with an online Question & Answer session with Will Dixon, data architect at Jaguar-Landrover UK. This gave a good impression of the position of data virtualisation as well as the possibilities that arise when changes in an architecture can easily be implemented and data doesn’t necessarily have to be duplicated and saved in each separate layer.

Lastly, the participants clearly expressed their wish for a follow-up, with room for a more comprehensive real time demo, frequent use cases, advice on fitting into existing IT architectures and the manageability of operational systems. This is scheduled for early 2018. We would like to thank all those present for their effort and enthusiasm.
