Expert Session Data Virtualization – June 21, 2018

On the basis of short presentations, demos, recent examples from practice and an interactive workshop, we once again presented the value of data virtualization to a broad audience of Data & Analytics managers, architects, analysts, BI Specialists and Data Scientists on Thursday 21 June 2018.

Together with TIBCO, Robert Eve – Tibco’s Senior Director of Data Intelligence & co-author of the book ‘Data Virtualization – Going beyond Traditional Data Integration to achieve business flexibility’, we have talked about the benefits, capabilities and challenges of Agile architecture with data virtualization.

After the break, Dr. Teus Kappen, anesthetist and project leader Clinical Decision Support UMC Utrecht, talked about the role that data virtualization plays in the increasing need for and access to (Big) Data and Analytics on the way to personalized care. Data as a tool to more self-guidance by the patient, more personal advice and better coordination between the care providers.

In the interactive workshop, the positioning of data virtualization in the modern data landscape was made even more transparent as the participants could translate their application directly into their own daily practice. This provided enough inspiration to keep talking to each other while enjoying a final snack and a drink.
